Greetings JDOTT Members:

We are pleased to announce the
2008 JDOTT Programming Events, scheduled to take place at this year’s NCORE Conference, in Orlando, Florida from May 27 – May 31, 2008.  As anticipated, we have an exciting program outline, and we are all looking forward to our annual higher education Black family reunion.

Detailed below is the itinerary of activities, registration and payment information. Please scroll all the way down and read each item carefully. 

Because the JDOTT program is very popular and fills up fairly quickly, we asking that members register as soon as possible.  We would love to be able to take all who are interested.  However, there is a participant limit.  The policy is first-come, first-served.  So, if you don't want to miss out on the festivities, please be sure to RSVP as soon as possible via the instructions below.  Please note that you do not have to register for the Board Meeting, Summit or the JDOTT party,
only the JDOTT Black Community Tour and Lunch scheduled for Thursday, May 29, 2008.

10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.   Black Community Tour and Lunch

Bus will depart hotel at 10:15am sharp!!!

The tour will feature a stop at The Zora Neale Hurston National Museum of Fine Arts and lunch at The Catfish Place – please view the menu options on Appendix A and email your choice to me along with your reservation for the tour.

Steps to Registering for the JDOTT Activities:

1.     RSVP/Registration:

        If you are interested in registering for the 2008 JDOTT Program, immediately register

        yourself and your guests.  You may register by sending an email to:

LaTashia Reedus at reedus.membership@johndobryant.org.   Your registration is not confirmed until you receive an email confirming that your seat has been reserved on the bus.

       
        Enclosed in the email, please provide the following information:

 

Your Full Name

The Complete Name(s) of other People You are Registering

                (For example: your spouse, your students, etc.)

Your University, College or Affiliation, and your JDOTT region (i.e. South, etc.)

Your Office Phone Number

Your Cell Phone Number or Your Hotel Name and Room # (required)*

Please make sure that you enclose all of the requested information.  Incomplete information may result in loss of your RSVP/registration.

        *We are asking that you provide on-site contact information so that we may

        share any critical scheduling, logistical or registration information.


        
Waiting List:

         Once registration has been filled, we will create a waiting list.  If spaces become available,  

         the first person on the waiting list will be notified and we will add them if they are

         interested.


2.     Registration Costs/Payment:
        The JDOTT 2008 Program is being presented as a package which includes the Black

Community Tour, Zora Neale Hurston Museum, transportation and lunch. The cost of

        the program is $50.00 (plus a $3.00 convenience fee if registering via PayPal - see

        below). The other JDOTT programs are open and without fees. For payment options,

        we are providing the following options to make it as convenient as possible:

 

a.   Via Mail - Please make your checks or money orders payable to JDOTT.  Checks or  

money orders (not cash) must be received by May 21, 2007 so please send plan accordingly. Mail payment to:

        *JDOTT is a 501c3 non-profit organization. If you need a receipt relative to the

        501c3 for your university, please let LaTashia know when registering.

 

        b.   Via Web-site - A PayPal account is now available on the JDOTT web-site. 

        If you are paying via PayPal, there is a convenience charge of $3.00.  Thus, your total costs                

        for the JDOTT Black Community Tour and Lunch would be $53.00.

        c.  On Site Registration - You may also make your payment on site.  You must still  

        register/RSVP as soon as possible per the instructions above.  If you choose to do on-site

        registration, payment must be received at the JDOTT booth by Wednesday, 5:00 p.m.  You

        may also bring your payment to the Executive Board meeting, on Tuesday, May 27, 2008             

        Although we are offering this option, we are recommending that JDOTT members use 

        option A or B, to guarantee your program spot.


3.    Deadlines Dates:

        a.  May 22 - mailed registration and payment must be received by LaTashia Reedus (not  

postmarked).

b.  May 23 - PayPal Registration must be received.

        c.  May 28 - On site Registration must be turned in at the JDOTT

                booth by 5:00 p.m.

4.   Cancellation Note:

        If for some reason, you are unable to make the JDOTT events, to receive

        100% return of your registration, you must cancel via written email by

        May 23, 2007, 12 Noon EST, to reedus.membership@johndobryant.org.  Any

        requests after May 23, 2007, 12 Noon EST will result in forfeit of registration

        fees.

Appendix A

 

 

As part of our Black Community Tour, we will be having lunch at The Catfish Place.  To make things easy for the restaurant owners and staff, we are requiring people to choose their lunch menu prior to arriving in Orlando.  Please choose one of the entrée options for your lunch along with 2 sides from the list below and email the choices to me after you have received email confirmation of your place on the tour.

Option C: Broiled Flounder
